What is RRP
Hundreds of horses, ten discipline champions, over $100,000 in prize money, one Thoroughbred Makeover Champion: the Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium, presented by Thoroughbred Charities of America, returns for 2024!
When: October 9th - 12th, 2024
Where: Kentucky Horse Park - Lexington, KY
Diciplines: Ten competitive disciplines are offered at the Makeover: Barrel Racing, Competitive Trail, Dressage, Eventing, Field Hunter, Polo, Ranch Work, Show Hunter, Show Jumper, and Freestyle. A horse may be entered in up to two
Who Can Participate: Accepted trainers (professionals, amateurs, juniors and teams) who apply between January 2 - January 19, 2024.
Sponsorship Details
Another Spin will provide you with a Turning for Home horse to free lease and train based off of your preferred discipline to bring to the RRP with no up-front cost associated with the lease of the horse.
You will be responsible for all of the expenses of traveling to, and participating in the Retired Racehorse Project 2024.
Once you check into the RRP with the horse provided, Another Spin will send you a $500 rebate just for participating in the diciplines you signed up for.
After the RRP, you have the option to purchase the horse outright from Another Spin for $1500, to either sell or keep - OR you can give the horse back to Another Spin. If returned to Another Spin you will receive a percentage of the sale price when sold.
This is a great program for trainers to expand their horizons!
Open to trainers who both have and haven't been previously involved in RRP.
No location requirements

When would I be getting a horse?
Sometime from late December - February depending on our RRP eligible horses that fit you!

Does it matter if I've already attended RRP? Or applied in the past?
Not to us. It could affect your eligability with the racehorse retirement project but we will figure that out in January.

December 11th we will be selecting individuals who will be invited to an interview to discuss logistics.
